Lavande cottage is located just on the outskirts of the small rural village of Menetou-sur-Nahon within the Indre department, 2.5 hours south-west of Paris and in between the cities of Tours and Bourges. The popular town of Valençay is just a short drive away.
La Petite Lavande cottage is available for monthly rentals between mid-October and February from €600 per month + bills.
The cottage is laid out on one level. There is Wi-Fi and the heating is by a wood burner (in the lounge) and electric radiators.

This beautiful cottage in the Loire Valley provides a relaxing base for a 3 months stay in France. The cottage is easy to reach, with Tours and Limoges airports nearby and a TGV station in the nearby town of Vierzon, with fast train services up to Paris and down to Toulouse.
This long term rental property is close to the lovely village of Menetou-sur-Nahon in Central France. The nearby town of Chabris has a weekly market, a couple of restaurants, a pharmacy, a good sized supermarket on the edge of town and a smaller shop in the centre. There is also a hair dresser, beautician, bank, boulangerie and a medical centre. The nearby town of Valencay features a famous Chateau and is well-known in France for its pyramid-shaped Valençay cheese made from goats' milk. Valencay also produces popular red, white and rosé wines.
Indre is a department in central France which is part of the region of Centre-Val de Loire region. It is a relatively small department located on the undulating plains of the Loire Valley, just 100km from top to bottom and 90km wide. The department is home to just over 220,000 people, making it one of the least densley populated department's in France. The capital and largest town in the department is Châteauroux. The economy is mostly agricultural. In recent years, Indre has attracted many international home-buyers, attracted by the cheaper house prices and the quiet French rural lifestyle.
Locally, there are many beautiful Chateaux, including Château de Valençay, Château de Bouges and Château Raoul, as well as the famous Château de Amboise and Château de Chambord.
La Brenne is a beautiful area of the department, featuring forests, lakes and marshland, which attracts thousands of walkers, bird watchers and nature enthusiasts. La Brenne is also a popular are for cyclists and mountain bikers.
The nearby ZooParc de Beauval is ranked amongst the 5 best zoos in the world and is the largest zoological park in Europe.
Loches is close famous small town boasting beautiful old medieval centre and a weekly market.
The city of Tours is the capital of the Loire Valley and contains a good range of shopping, cultural and medical facilities.
There is a TGV train station in the nearby village of Vierzon (where you can pick up TGV trains to Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Toulouse, Orleans and Tours).
There is a local airport at Tours (1 hour), with flights to London Stansted, Dublin, Marrakech and Porto.
Limoges airport is 1.15 hours away and it has direct flights to Marakech, Corsica, London Stansted, Bristol, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester and Southampton.
The Brittany Ferries port at Caen is about a 3.5 hour drive and Cherbourg and Le Havre are both around 4.5 hours. Calais is approx 6-7 hours drive.
