This restored 18th century cottage in the quaint village of Nizas in South France provides comfortable accommodation in 3 bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms. This charming cottage for long term rental in France also features a large sunny terrace, a garden shaded by mature fruit trees and a lower covered patio perfect for stretching out and enjoying a good book. Inside, the cottage contains many original features such as exposed beams, a large wood burning stove and lovely period French windows. The cottage is bright and sunny and is located on a quiet lane near the centre of the village. Nizas is just a 5 minute drive to the popular town of Pezenas.

This lovely French cottage for long term rental in France is situated just a few minutes´ walk from the centre of the village, with its tree-lined square and fountain. The front entrance leads up a small set of steps to the large open plan living room with open fireplace. The kitchen, is well equipped with a gas stove, microwave, electric coffee maker, kettle and large fridge-freezer. A set of French windows leads out onto the large terrace, which comes with lovely views over the garden below and the fields beyond. The terrace is private and enjoys the sun all afternoon. This is the perfect space for sunbathing and barbecues.
Another set of stairs takes you up to the second floor, where there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The Master bedroom is a beautiful large room with exposed beams and white wash walls. The bedroom is fitted with a large double bed, bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers, shelving and hanging space. The second bedroom contains two twin beds (which can also be converted into a double bed if required). The bathroom contains a bath, wash basin and toilet.
On the ground floor of this cottage there is a further large bedroom and shower room. This bedroom has a separate entrance from the side street, or by a small set of steps from the upper terrace. The bedroom contains a double bed and a large space which can be used as a home office or converted into a sitting room. The washing machine is located in this space. There is a shower room, with wash basin and toilet. A large set of sliding patio doors leads out onto a covered patio and into the garden. A small staircase leads to the upper balcony.
Outside: the small garden is mainly laid to gravel and features an orange tree, fig tree and plants.

Last visited Feb 2017. This beautiful old French cottage in the heart of the village of Nizas comes with plenty of rustic charm with exposed beams, white washed walls and tiled floors. The large terrace and garden are perfect for sunbathing and barbecuing. The fields viewed from the terrace are also wonderful for walks and picnics. The charming town of Pezenas, once the capital of Languedoc, is only 5 minutes drive away and Nizas is conveniently located to explore the sites of Languedoc Roussillon and the South of France.

Area activities
The wine-producing village of Nizas is surrounded by vineyards in all directions. The village dates back to the Roman times and it was first referred to in manuscripts dating back to 1050 AD. Nizas is only 5km from the historic town of Pezenas which is famous for it´s architecture and antique shops. In Pezenas you will find great food shops, restaurants and a lively market every Saturday. To the south of Nizas are the wide sandy beaches of the Mediterranean (25km), stretching endlessly either side of Cap d´Agde. The picturesque ports of Sete, Meze and Marseillan all have excellent seafood restaurants. To the north are the dramatic hills and gorges of the Languedoc National Park where you can trek, swim and canoe. To the southwest are the bustling towns of Beziers (25km) and Narbonne (50km). Finally towards the North East is Montpellier, the most vibrant and cosmopolitan city in the region. Just a little further on are the fascinating towns of Arles and Nimes.
Nizas itself has a shop which doubles as a post office, grocers and bakers. There are also a couple of wine cellars where you can sample the local wines and buy directly from the producers.

The local town of Pezenas has a good bus network to Montpellier, Agde and Beziers (all of which have TGV train stations).
