This beautiful 18th Century town house, is located in the picturesque riverside village of Montsoreau in the heart of the Loire Valley, France. The house comes with 3 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms, parking and a private terrace and is available for long term rent between October to April from €2500 per month + bills.
The village of Montsoreau is built around the impressive Château de Montsoreau on the banks of the Loire river and is officially classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. The Chateau dates back to 1450 and is listed as a UNESCO Heritage site. Today the Château is home to a contemporary art museum. In the town you will find a bakery, a butcher, a small grocery store, and four restaurants. The cities of Angers and Tours are 50 mins away. The TGV train from Paris to Tours takes 1 hour. Paris Charles de Gaulle airport is just 1 hour 45 mins away.

This beautiful 18th century house was fully restored in 2023. The house is laid out over 3 floors and provides accommodation for up to 6 people.
Ground floor
- There is a large lounge with exposed beams, stone walls and travertine tiled floor. The lounge has a large sofa and armchairs.
- The lounge leads through to the large kitchen-diner. There is a dining table with seating for 6 people.
- The kitchen comes equipped with an oven, electric hob, microwave, large fridge freezer, dishwasher and kettle. There is a full set of plates, glasses and cutlery and plenty of cooking utensils.
- There is a small entrance lobby with guest toilet.
First floor
- The Master bedroom is fitted with a Queen-size bed and features an exposed stone wall, beams and the original large stone fireplace.
- Bedroom 2 is a large room with stone fireplace, exposed stone walls and oak beams. The bedroom is fitted with twin beds.
- The bathroom on this floor comes with a bath with overhead shower, wash basin and WC.
Second floor
- Bedroom 3 comes with exposed stone walls and a Queen-size bed.
- There is a bathroom on this floor with a shower, wash basin and WC.
- There is a cosy TV room/Sitting room with flat screen TV, sofa and armchairs. This room can also be used as a home office.
Outside:
- There is a private terrace with stunning views of Château de Montsoreau.
- There is private parking for 2 cars in front of the house.

This is a beautiful place to rent in France for a few months. With plenty of space and lovely original features such as exposed stone walls and oak beams, you will thoroughly enjoy living in the house and never tire of the view of Château de Montsoreau. The town of Montsoreau has everything you need for day-to-day living and the nearby town of Saumur has supermarkets and services. Angers and Tours are both 50 mins drive and you can reach Paris in 1 hour via the TGV train from Tours.
One month deposit to be paid at time of reservation (this will become your security deposit during your stay). The rent is to be paid monthly on the first day of each month. There is a monthly provision of €350 (towards the utility bills and local taxes), which is to be paid in addition to the rent. Minimum stay is 2 months.

Area activities
There has been a defensive castle at Montsoreau since 996. The present Château was built in 1450 and has been fought over for centuries and was once under the ownership of Henry II Plantagenet, King of England (1156 - 1170). Alexandre Dumas, the famous author of the Count de Montecristo and the Three Musketeers, immortalised Montsoreau in one of his most celebrated novels, the Dame de Monsoreau, first published in 1846. Today, Montsoreau attracts plenty of visitors who come to see the Château and visit the Contemporary Art Museum now housed within its walls.
The Loire Valley is home to some 3,000 Châteaux, including the famous Château de Chambord, Château d'Amboise, the Château de Chenonceau and the Château-Gaillard. Along the course of the Loire river there are many picturesque towns including Blois, Amboise and Saumur. Wine has been made in the Loire Valley since Roman times and today the vineyards of Anjou, Saumur and Touraine produce a range of well-respected sparkling wines, white, rosé and red wines.
The village of Montsoreau is officially classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France and has a population of around 500. The village has a bakery, a butcher, a small grocery store, and four restaurants. A market takes place every Sunday morning and there is a large flea market held in the village on the second Sunday of every month. The cities of Angers and Tours are 50 mins away.

The TGV train from Paris to Tours takes 1 hour. There is a regular bus service between the nearby town of Saumur and Tours, with local bus services running between Saumur and Montsoreau.
