Boutenac is located in the Aude department of South France and is a very friendly village. This area of southern France is rich in history and the countryside is dominated by vineyards and Cathar ruins. The village provides easy access to both Narbonne and Carcassonne (both 20 mins). The Mediterranean coast is 35 mins and you can access 4 airports within 1 hour radius.
The house is laid out over 3 floors and provides 110m² of living accommodation. There are 3 good-sized bedrooms and a spacious lounge and kitchen.

The private terrace comes with beautiful views. It is furnished with a barbecue and a patio table with chairs and parasol. The terrace benefits from a good amount of sunshine during the day.

Firewood to be purchased separately. Minimum stay is 3 months. Not normally available during July and August.

This comfortable house in this beautiful area of Southern France, is an ideal rental for a family or a coupe expecting frequent guests. The house can be rented between September to June and the Owners may consider an annual rental.
The house comes with WiFi and is heated via the fireplace in the living room and electric radiators in the bedrooms. The Owner will accept pets through prior agreement (limited to 2 small/medium size dogs).
The rental is for the entire property. Any shared facilities are listed in the property description.
The prices quoted are based on a 6 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills and communal taxes are payable in addition to the rent.
The wine-making village of Boutenac has around 800 inhabitants and features a small supermarket (which also sells fresh bread and serve as post office), a butcher, a media library, a tennis court and a place to play pétanque. The village is located within the Corbieres wine region and there are many excellent local vineyards (especially Voulte Gasparets, only 5 mins from the house).
The Mediterranean beaches are only 30-45mins drive away. The best beaches are to be found at Gruissan, Narbonne Plage and Leucate.
The Corbieres region was home to the Cathar movement and there are many Cathar sites to see such as Château de Peyrepertuse, Montségur, Quéribus and Minerve. Also nearby you will find the beautiful Abbey de Fontfoide and the stunning village of Lagrasse, one of the most beautiful villages of France. The village has many restaurants and interesting sites and shops. There is also a nice beach on the river banks.
Narbonne is a lovely town to walk around and it has an amazing gothic cathedral which towers above the town.
Carcassonne has one of the most beautiful castles in Europe and is the second most visited site in France, outside of Paris.
In Lézignan Corbières (about 20 minutes by car) there are lots of shops and supermarkets and every Wednesday morning there is a lively local market.
The Corbières region is also ideal for hiking and cycling tours. You will find lots of signposted routes, even starting at Boutenac.
There is a bus service which runs between Boutenac and Narbonne (via Lezignan-Corbières).
The nearest airport is located at Carcassonne (20 mins). You will also find airports located at:
Toulouse (1 hour)
Beziers (50 mins)
Perpignan (1 hour)
Boutenac is easy to reach from the A61 motorway (exit at Lézignan-Corbières), and is just 1 hour from Toulouse (airport Blagnac), 20 mins to Narbonne and Carcassonne and 1 hour from Perpignan. The Spanish border is 1 hour 30mins.
One month deposit to be paid at time of reservation (this will become the security deposit for your stay). Rent to be paid in advance on the first day of the month (for rentals of 3 months or less, the rent is to be paid in full prior to arrival).
The utility bills are to be paid in addition to the monthly rent. There is a monthly provision of €200 towards the utility bills.
References may be required. Minimum stay is normally 3 months.
