Set on a tranquil country estate in between the village of Maureilhan and the small town of Capestang, L´Atelier is a 2 bed cottage for long term rentals in Southern France. The cottage can be rented between October to May from €850 per month + bills. The Domaine de Sainte Marie is a former vineyard and there are vines stretching out in all directions. The cottage is part of the network of buildings which were built around the main manor house. The Owners will accept pets through prior arrangement (limited to 2 dogs).
Cottage rentals in Southern France - facilities
This very comfortable stone cottage has been carefully decorated to combine modern facilities, whilst retaining the character of the building. The cottage is laid out on 2 floors and contains polished concrete floors on the ground floor and solid wooden flooring on the first floor. The thick stone walls keep the cottage cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The Domaine de Sainte Marie is accessed via a long driveway, bordered by pine trees. The cottage has its own parking and independent entrance.
- The hallway has retained the original calade (a provencale pebble stone floor) and is lined with storage cupboards. It leads to the living room and kitchen.
- The large living room comes with 2 sofas, a flat screen TV, antique armoire and various lamps. The living room provides access out to the private courtyard garden.
- The contemporary kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, oven and microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washer / dryer, toaster, kettle, electric coffee maker (or Nespresso on request). It also provides direct access to the garden.
- There is a guest toilet on the ground floor.
The 2 bedrooms are on the first floor and both overlook the vineyards and the patio.
- Bedroom 1 contains a double bed (160cm x 200cm) and an en suite shower room (with sink and large shower decorated with marble stone).
- Bedroom 2, has 3 beds and can be configured either as a triple room (3 single beds 90cm x 200cm) or as a king size bed (180cm x 200cm) + 1 single bed. There is an en suite bathroom (with hand basin and large shower decorated in marble stone).
Outside: the pretty courtyard garden is surrounded by a stone wall and contains a decorative fountain and plenty of pots containing flowers and Mediterranean plants. There are deckchairs, a parasol, table, chairs and a barbecue for your grilling.

Inside it has been decorated and equipped to a high standard. The cottage is convenient for exploring the region, especially if you are on a house-hunting trip. Beziers is 15 mins drive, the Canal du Midi is 5 mins away and the Mediterranean beaches can be reached in 20 mins.

Area activities
The house is located near to Beziers in Southern France. The village of Maureilhan is 1.5km away. The village has shops and restaurants and is also very handy for the road network.
Beziers is a great area for a long term let. It is located close to the Mediterranean beaches, it has fantastic transport connections, great shops and over 2000 years of history to explore. In recent years a tremendous amount of investment has flowed into Beziers and it has become a real property hot spot. Beziers has historically been the capital of the Languedoc wine industry and the local area is dominated by vineyards.
The region has some wonderful old towns to visit such as Carcassonne, Toulouse and Montpellier; and you are just around an hour`s drive from Spain, so you can pop across the border. Further inland you will find the beautiful Haut Languedoc Regional Park, which offers plenty of forests, lakes, canyons, gorges and mountains to explore.

There is a TGV train station in the centre of Beziers, with regular services to Paris, Barcelona, Toulouse and Marseille.
