This beautifully renovated farmhouse for long term rentals in South France is located close Carcassonne and comes with 3 bedrooms, a spacious living room and a large private swimming pool. The property has stunning views of the medieval village of Fanjeaux, which is located in between Carcassonne and Mirepoix. The Farmhouse is equipped to a high standard and is very bright and airy inside. The Farmhouse provides total peace and quiet, yet is only a 2 minute drive to the village where you will find an excellent boulangerie/patisserie, cafe/tabac, restaurant and shop. This long term rental property sleeps 6 people in comfort.
This property is available to rent from September to May. Prices are €1250 per month October to March; €1500 per month for April and €2500 per month for May and September. Not available during June, July and August.
Farmhouse for long term rentals South France - facilities:
This sympathetically restored farmhouse is laid out over 2 floors.
Ground floor
- The large hallway (with piano) leads onto the open plan lounge and dining area.
- The lounge comes with 3 sofas and a large flat screen TV with internet channels. A set of patio doors provides access out to the garden.
- The dining area features exposed beams and a large dining table which can seat up to 12 people. There is an inset fireplace.
- The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, gas hob, oven, microwave and large fridge-freezer. The kitchen has plenty of storage space and cooking utensils, plates, cutlery and glasses.
- Behind the kitchen there is a utility room (with washing machine and tumble dryer) and bathroom.
- A set of patio doors lead out from the kitchen to the covered terrace at the front of the house.
First floor
- On the first floor you will find the large master bedroom with private balcony and en-suite bathroom. The bedroom contains a super king-size bed and a sofa (which folds out to form a double bed).
- There are two further double bedrooms on this floor.
- There are two bathrooms (one shower room and one with bath and overhead shower).
Outside: Surrounding the farmhouse there is a large garden (mainly laid to lawn) and a large swimming pool (10m x 4m) surrounded by a large sun deck. The pool is closed during October through to April. There is also a covered terrace next to the house, which is a great place to enjoy a BBQ and long leisurely lunch. Attached to the main house there are 2 barns, one which is used for storage and another used as an outdoor play area with table tennis, basketball hoop, a swing and other games.
At the rear of the house there is a large deck, with fabulous views over the vineyards and sunflower fields to the village of Fanjeaux.
The farmhouse comes with central heating and a working fireplace. There is WiFi throughout the house.

Area activities
This long term rentals property is located close to the village of Fanjeaux. In the village you will find a shop, boulangerie and bar/restaurant. It is 10 minutes drive to a large supermarket (in Bram) and 20 minutes to the beautiful market town of Mirepoix. Toulouse is 50 mins drive away and provides great restaurants, excellent shops and has a beautiful historic centre. The farmhouse is also 20 minutes from Castelnaudary on the Canal du Midi with supermarkets, restaurants etc.
Carcassonne, is just 20 mins away and is the location of a fabulous castle, which is the 2nd most visited historical monument in France. The town is built around two medieval cities, the original hilltop Cite on one side of the river Aude, and the thirteenth century Bastide on the other side of the river. Carcassonne is within easy reach of the Mediterranean beaches (50 mins)
The Pyrenees mountains can be seen in the distance and here you will find numerous winter ski resorts.

There is a train station in Bram and Carcassonne, with connections to Toulouse and Narbonne for the TGV services.

Definitely recommend
The villa is in a wonderfully secluded location with stunning views of the surrounding area. The facilities were great with a fantastic outside eating area for large groups. Would definitely recommend that you choose this villa.

Place is amazing!
This place is amazing. The house is big (the rooms , the bathrooms, kitchen... everything is spacious). Outside is lovely, there are plenty space for the kids to run, or just dive into the lovely pool. We were a group of 12 (7 under 12 year old) and we all have a fantastic time. From here we went to carcassone and Mirepoix (monday and thursday don`t miss the local market to buy cheese) , and we also pay a quick visit to Camon, lovely! We want to go back during the summer to see all the sunflowers field full of colour!
