This is a stunning property to be based for a long term rental in Provence, France, over the winter or for a full year. Inside the farmhouse is wonderfully comfortable and outside it provides all the peace and tranquillity that you will need.
The rental is for the entire property. The prices quoted are based on a 6 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills and communal taxes are payable in addition to the rent.
This Provence farmhouse is set in the heart of the Luberon National Park, surrounded by the beautiful of Provençale countryside and stunning hill-top villages such as Lourmarin, Gordes, Roussillon and Bonnieux.
The local village of Lauris is perched high up on a plateau and provides beautiful views over the local Provence countryside. The village contains a former Knights Templar castle and in the village there are many small alleyways and ancient streets that lead up to the Eglise Notre Dame de Purification church. The farmers market in the town square brings local producers from across the Luberon selling their wares. In the village you will also find a boulangerie, butcher, small shop and restaurant. There is a larger supermarket in Pertuis (10 kms).
In Lourmarin, there are a number of Michelin star restaurants, the best tables during the peak seasons are hard to come by if you haven’t reserved.
Domaine de Fontenille vineyard is a stone throw from the home, where tours, tastings and exquisite meals are a highly recommended.
Other excellent local restaurants include Bistrot Jeannette, ideal for a leisurely lunch and Lou Pebre d'Aïe an excellent restaurant for dinner. Alternatively, you can pop into the Café Parraud, for decent local wines, draft beer and pastis.
There is a TGV train station at Avignon (63 kms) and Aix-en-Provence (68 kms). There is a bus service from the local village of Lauris direct to Aix-en-Provence (€3.00 each way).
The nearest airport is located at Marseille (68 kms) or Avignon (63 kms).
To reach the village of Lauris, a fast dual carriageway (A51) leads up from Aix-en-Provence and the A8 motorway. Take the D973 main road from the town of Pertuis along to Lauris (10 kms). The farmhouse is located just on the outskirts of the village.
From Lauris you can reach Avignon (50 mins), Aix-en-Provence (40 mins), St Remy de Provence (45 mins) and Marseille and Cote d'Azur coast (1 hour)
We highly recommend this idyllic home in Lauris. You will have a wonderful peaceful beautiful time here in this iconic stone farmhouse with the most amazing views across a lovely valley. Birds chirping in the day frogs at night bees buzzing around the wild thyme growing along the drive in a private gated compound with absolute rustic charm. The wifi was good and faster than we were expecting. The kitchen was perfect and we cooked and ate multiple excellent meals there from ingredients purchased at the local supermarket and markets in other towns that we visited. We enjoyed meals on the terrace in the afternoon sun delightful. Drive to Aix, Avignon, Arles, etc...all are close-by. Don't hesitate this is a great find for your idyllic Provence experience.
