Farmhouse for rent in Dordogne France - facilities

The farmhouse is a typical long house or longere, which are often found in this part of France. The farmhouse is 40 metres in length and 10 metres in width and provides over 200m² of living space. Most of the living accommodation is on the ground floor, with one of the bedrooms on the first floor.

• You enter the farmhouse into large L-shaped living room (60m²).
• The comfortable lounge is organised around the open fireplace. There are 2 large sofas and a small TV.
• Next to the lounge there is area which can be used as a home office or dining area.
• The dining area features a 3 metre dining table, which is great for entertaining the whole family at Christmas or having friends over for lunch.
• The beautiful kitchen has recently been renovated and features a centre island with large gas hob and stylish extractor fan, an oven, large frisge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and plenty of cooking utensils. The kitchen provides access out to the vegetable plot at the rear of the house.
• Bedroom 1 is located just off the dining area and is a very large bedroom (25m²). The bedroom features a double bed, antique wardrobe and radiator. A set of French windows provides access to the garden.
• Bedroom 2 is located on the other side of the dining room and is the Master suite. This large bedroom is 22m² and comes with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath, wash basin and WC.
• There is a large lobby area which provides access to Bedroom 3 and up to Bedroom 4, as well as the kitchen and bathroom. This area can also be used as a home office or as an additional sitting room.
• Bedroom 3 comes with twin beds. There is a radiator in this room.
• The bathroom is newly installed and features double showers, a large wash basin and a separate toilet.

First floor

• A steep staircase takes you up to Bedroom 4. This bedroom comes with a double bed and a radiator. The bedroom has views out over the garden.

Outside

The farmhouse is set within 2 acres of land. Half of the land is a private woodland, the rest is open grazing land, garden and swimming pool area. There is parking for several vehicles.

• The swimming pool is 8m x 4m. Around the pool there is a lawn area where you can sunbathe and relax. A new sauna has also been installed next to the pool. There is a shower and a compost toilet.
• In front of the farmhouse there is a garden with seating area, lawn and wild flowers. Behind the farmhouse, there is a small vegetable plot.
• At the end of the farmhouse there is an open barn, which the owner currently uses as a workshop, art studio, summer kitchen and storage area. The barn contains the original feeding stalls for cattle/horses. There is a sink, fridge and barbecue.
• Beyond the swimming pool there is over one acre of open grass land, which is fenced on two sides. There is space for a paddock/exercise ring, grazing pasture and stables.

The farmhouse can be rented for up to 12 months. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €250 towards the electricity, heating, water and Wi-Fi. Firewood can also be provided. Tenants are required to maintain the garden in between the farmhouse and the swimming pool, as well as the cleaning of the pool. The woodland and grazing land will remain the responsibility of the Owner.

Long term rentals (12 months): from €1500 per month + bills

Long term rentals (October to May): from €1250 per month + bills

For the grazing land there is a nominal fee payable. However a deposit of €1500 will be required to ensure that the land is returned at the end of the lease, in the same condition that it was found.
