It is known as a Bastide town - which refers to the fortified towns often built on hilltops, which are common in this part of France. The apartment is ideally positioned near local amenities such as bakeries, a butcher, restaurants, bars, brocantes, a cinema, and a thermal spa.

The entrance lobby provides access to a hallway with ample room for storing coats, boots and shoes. Stairs lead upstairs to the apartment.

First floor

• The spacious living room is very bright and airy. The lounge is fitted with a sofa, 2 armchairs, fibre internet and a desk/work station. There are two ceiling fans which are great for cooling the apartment in summer and distributing the heat from the wood burning stove in winter. Three large windows look out on to the street and the surrounding countryside.
• The dining room comes with a large dining table with seating for 4-6 people. 
• The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, oven, hob, and microwave. There is also an integrated washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen.

Bedrooms & bathrooms

There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

• Bedroom 1 features a Queen-sized double bed and en-suite bathroom. There is a dressing table, mirror, bench-seat and a spacious floor-to-ceiling wardrobe with built-in drawers, a ceiling fan to keep the room cool in summer. Large windows look out on to the street and surrounding countryside. The bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower, toilet, heated towel rail and vanity unit with wash basin.

The apartment is available for monthly rentals of up to 12 months. In addition to the rental price, there is a provision of €200 per month towards the electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi and communal taxes. Minimum stay is 3 months and higher rates will apply to rentals over the summer season.

Chez Carmel apartment to rent in Lectoure, Southwest France - our opinion

This beautifully finished apartment is ideally positioned close to all the shops and amenities in the small market town of Lectoure. The apartment benefits from lovely views over the surrounding Gascony countryside. Lectoure is a popular town with lots of activities taking place throughout the year. The apartment is just over one hour from Toulouse airport and there is a TGV train station in the nearby town of Auch (which can be reached by public transport from Lectoure).
