This apartment for long term lettings in the South of France is located in the centre of Beziers, a town with a population of over 70,000 people. There is much to do in Beziers, strolling along the beautiful alleys of the Old Town and shopping in the small shops. Visit one of the many restaurants, go to the theater or visit Friday´s flower market or Saturday´s antique market. During the summer, the city is buzzing with activities with various festivals and music events.

Local neighbourhood: around the corner from Place des Chaudronniers is the Place de la Mairie with a variety of bars and restaurants, and a five minutes walk away the covered market with a wide choice of fresh produce such as meat, fish, vegetables and bakery stalls as well as bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. The impressive cathedral Saint Nazaire, with its terrace overlooking the Orb valley, is a pleasant stroll away. Walking down the Rue de la Citadelle you will reach the famous Place Jean Jaurés with its fountains and green spaces before arriving at the Allées Paul Riquet, with all kinds of markets and more restaurants and bars in addition to well stocked supermarkets.

Beaches:The Mediterranean coast is a short drive or bus journey away and offers fantastic beaches, ranging from wild beaches in Serignan and Vendres to chic promenades in Grau d´Agde and Valras plage.

Beziers, is the capital of the World´s largest wine regions and most of the local wineries are open to visitors and you can try their wines. A tour of the region´s villages is also recommended. Pezenas which is a fantastic little town with a rich cultural life inspired by Moliere, has a large market every Saturday and a food & wine festival every Friday night during July and August. Pezenas has over 60 antique shops and over 30 restaurants.

Agde is one of France´s oldest cities and lies at the river Herault´s outflow. The town has some nice restaurants and beautiful beaches. Cap Agde has the Mediterranean´s largest marina and there is plenty of activities from water sports to amusement parks and an excellent golf course.

Canal du Midi - The Canal du Midi passes alongside Beziers, just beside the railway station. A couple of the most interesting features of the Canal are located here as well, in the area just past the station. Canal River Bridge - The canal crosses over the Orb river in what is billed as a world´s first. This "bridge" that carries the Canal du Midi over the top of the river was built in 1858, one of the many engineering marvels along the Canal´s 400 km length. Fonseranes Locks - Of the 63 locks of the Canal du Midi, the 9 closely-grouped Fonseranes locks are among the most famous, and probably the most picturesque.
