This selection of houses for long stay rentals in France are all currently available from October 2024 to 2025. Some of the properties will take 12 month all year around rentals, but some are reserved for weekly rentals during the summer months. The prices quoted exclude the utility bills (which as a rough rule of thumb come to around 15-18% of the monthly rental price).

Our reservation process for long stay rentals is very straight forward. We simply require that you provide copies of your ID (passport photo page) and some evidence of your ability to pay the rent (which can be anything such as copies of your pension statement, employment contract, bank statement, copies of 6 months' rental receipts, etc.).

Our rental contracts are issued in French and English and can be used as an attestation for opening French bank accounts and obtaining visas for France.

Requirements for moving to France

If you are looking to move to France for longer than 3 months (and you will not be travelling on a European passport), then you will need to apply for a long stay visa for France. The application process is quite simple, it can be handled all online via the website www.france-visas.com. But the process is a bit back to front. Before you can apply for your visa, you will need to sort out your:

• rental accommodation in France
• health insurance coverage in France
• proof of sufficient financial resources to support yourself

The Cote d'Azur is a fantastic location for a long term rental in South France. The weather is glorious and there is always something going on - be it an international convention, a local festival or a weekly farmer's market. The Cote d'Azur is an eclectic combination of glitzy resorts and quaint old French villages.

The Cote d'Azur does get incredibly busy during August and rental prices rocket during this month. The summer property rental prices in Cote d'Azur are among the highest in the world. However, there are still some affordable long term rental options if you shop around. Renting over the high summer season is going to be expensive, mainly because the property Owners can charge at least 50% more per week during July and August, than they can earn from monthly rentals at other times of the year.

Unless you have an unlimited budget, then you may want to find other quieter towns and villages in which to be based, away from the tourist throng, such as Valbonne, Vence and Fayence.
