The cottage is located in the centre of the village and it is built into ramparts of the Chateau that originally stood on this hilltop site. The cottage is laid out over 4 floors
Ground floor
- Next to the entrance lobby there is a shower room with walk-in shower and toilet.
- The gorgeous sitting room features the original stone vaulted ceiling. The room contains a sofa (which converts into a sofa bed), coffee table, small TV and a table football. There is a small alcove for storage.
First floor
- Just up the stairs from the sitting room, there is Bedroom 3, which contains a single bed.
Second floor
- The well-equipped kitchen features an oven, hob, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and plenty of storage space.
- Next to the kitchen there is the large living room which comes with 2 sofas, a large flat screen TV, an inset fireplace and a dining table and chairs.
- The living room comes with Wi-Fi and a reversible air conditioning unit.
Third floor
- The bathroom comes with a fill bath (with overhead shower) a wash basin and a toilet.
- Bedroom 1 is a large double bedroom with a high ceiling. The bedroom contains a double bed, fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers.
- Bedroom 2 is also a spacious bedroom with a a standard size double bed and a children's day bed.
- The hallway on the third floor contains a reversible air conditioning unit which heats/cools the bedrooms.
Outside
On the top floor of the house there is a large roof terrace which comes with amazing views over the village and the surrounding vineyards. The terrace contains a patio table and chairs, large parasol, BBQ and a set of outdoor furniture (sofa and 2 armchairs).

Maison Citron is available for long term rentals between September to June from €800 per month + bills. There is a monthly provision of €200 towards the electricity, water, internet and local taxes. The cottage is not available during July and August.

Maison Citron is a well-appointed cottage for long term rentals in the hilltop village of Magalas, South France. The village has a good range of services, including a number of restaurants, boulangerie, 2 supermarkets, an English-speaking Doctor, a primary school and a college.
The cottage provides comfortable accommodation for 5-6 people. Magalas has a good Wi-Fi connection and there is free parking 10 metres from the cottage.

Area activities
The Languedoc is one of the most fascinating areas of Europe, bordering the Mediterranean Sea to the east and the Pyrenees Mountains to the south. It benefits from an exceptional climate and has an unusually rich wildlife, a spectacular coast, and surprising history. There are also numerous cultural activities, along with French regional food specialties, and Languedoc wines.
Beziers is a bustling market town, with views over the River Orb from its impressive cathedral. Its ´Feria´ in August is a celebration of music, food and culture. Its splendid old market hall is a haven for those who want to sample the best of local produce, and in the nearby old town restaurants and cafes line the pavements.
Magalas is a thriving wine-growing village. There is a market in the town square every Wednesday, and live music many weekends during the summer. Magalas has three restaurants, two cafes, a small supermarket in its centre and a large one on the outskirts, plus doctors, dentist, hairdressers, pharmacy and other facilities. The wonderful medieval church, and its internationally renowned acoustics plays host to many classical concerts. The river Orb provides wonderful swimming only ten minutes away, as well as canoeing at nearby picturesque Roquebrun.
Other transport
Magalas has its own railway station, located at the end of the road. The station has a number of daily train services to Beziers train station, which has TGV connections to Paris and Barcelona.

1 month security deposit to be paid at time of reservation. Rent to be paid one monthly, at the start of each month. Available for long term rentals between October to May. Minimum stay is 3 months. Utility bills to be paid in addition to the monthly rent (€200 monthly provision towards the electricity, water and internet). References maybe required.
